Te Au Pūngao’s Prototyping Room is designed for innovators, engineers, and creators who need access to high-quality fabrication and rapid prototyping tools. Whether you’re testing a new product, iterating on a design, or building a proof of concept, this space provides the equipment and environment to bring your ideas to life.

  • 3D Scanning – CR-Scan Raptor Blue Laser 3D Scanner
  • Workbenches & Tools – Suitable for assembly, testing, and small-scale fabrication
  • High-Speed Internet – Access cloud-based design software and collaboration tools

 

Usage Guidelines

  • Users must accept the Prototyping Policy and Procedures before booking.
  • Print cost estimates are provided upon submission; final pricing is based on material usage and print time.
  • Users must provide their own storage devices for scanned files—Te Au Pūngao does not store user data.
  • PPE is required where specified.
  • Workspaces and tools must be cleaned and returned in working condition after use.
  • Damage due to misuse may result in repair fees and access restrictions.
  • Unclaimed prints must be collected within seven days—after that, they become Te Au Pūngao property.

Booking Information

  • All bookings must be made online at www.teaupungao.com.
  • 3D print STL files must be submitted via email to [email protected].
  • Booking is required for all equipment and workspace use—walk-ins are not permitted.
  • Cancellations or changes must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Users must check in with staff before using any equipment.
